Hello and welcome to the Sumpter Veterans! Hopefully you found the new home here for discussions regarding the Sumpter Veterans. It just works out easier, and is more logical, to have discussions regarding the Veterans group here. We hope you will feel comfortable joining in the discussions. If you have any questions, or need assistance with this blog, feel free to send an email............veterans@sumpter.org  We have a large, and rather quiet, group of Veterans up here in Sumpter who have served our Country and one of the ways we want to honor our Veterans is this blog. So even if you aren't a Veteran, this is a good place to say thank you to men and women who have served this nation or just say hello. Whether they went to war or served in peacetime really doesn't matter. Even after serving their country in war or peacetime, this group of Veterans want to continue serving by finding ways they can contribute to their community and they have lots of ideas on how to do so! Besides sharing ideas here, the Veterans meet every 2nd Wednesday of each month down at the
Scoop-N-Steamer at 9 am. It's called the Coffee Break and is informal and interesting...and the coffee is provided by the friendly folks at the Scoop-N-Steamer. Veterans are invited to swap stories, ideas, and enjoy the kind of fellowship that Veterans enjoy. Some good ideas on how the Sumpter Veterans can serve their community have already been discussed........One of the popular ideas lately is cleaning and maintaining the Sumpter Cemetary. Other ideas include a Memorial Day Service, the Miners Jubilee Parade, and more. The annual Sumpter Christmas Parade already features a color detail led by a local Veteran and is enjoyed by all. So, we look forward to your ideas and comments (and even your stories) and we'll help you stay informed with local information and events.  Thanks for stopping by!
