We always enjoy unique and one-of-a-kind vendors at the Sumpter Flea Market! But this year, we have a vendor who is selling their homemade Birdhouses. But that is not what makes them different. The Rodriguez Family moved to John Day from Eugene last year because the dryer climate is better for their son, Christopher, who has Cebral Palsy. The money they raise from the sale of their birdhouses goes to pay for equipment and construction costs associated with making their house in John Day accessible for Christopher's special needs. The birdhouses are hand crafted and the work is a family affair. The painstaking work on each birdhouse is done in the kitchen while Christopher supervises. Each birdhouse is very unique and personalized to suit almost any request.....within reason of course.
