We had a great breakfast at the Sumpter Community Center (the schoolhouse) last Sunday morning.....it was informal and enjoyable and served by the same group of folks that put on the great chili feed last fall that helped raise money for our snow plow!  From the moment we walked in, they started serving us. Volunteers.  It was so much fun to see the Breakfast Club in action! Even the Mayor was there. In fact, the Mayor was cooking and serving as well. Not only did the food taste good, but we had a good time chatting with folks as well. What did it cost? Well, it's free...you just pay what you think the breakfast is worth to you-and the money goes to support good causes in our community. It was nice to see the remodeling already accomplished with money donated so far. Along with the kitchen remodel, the Breakfast Club has also raised money to add to money the Snowmobile Club has donated  for new windows the schoolhouse needs...Despite the tasty food and fun atmosphere, we won't be forsaking our favorite restaurants for breakfast, but we will be planning to eat at the next Breakfast Club! Breakfast is served up every 3rd Sunday each month from about

The sun is just rising over the Sumpter Valley on this Saturday morning, as a group of men gather at the McEwen Bible Fellowship just outside of Sumpter. It is early, starting at 7:00 am, but we were rewarded on our way to the church this morning by a beautiful sunrise and some elk grazing just off the road. These guys agree that a homemade breakfast, followed by a bible study is well worth the early hour and the fellowship is nice too. When the breakfast, cooked by a small group from within the group,  is over and plates are cleared, the bible study begins as taught by the Minister of the church. Noone is left out of this bible study. You are encoraged to participate with questions and comments. Discussions are informative and interesting. Then it is time to go home to enjoy the remainder of the day. There is no charge for the breakfast (a donation basket is left on the table). It is admittedly difficult for some to rise so early on a Saturday morning, but if you are a man looking for a bible study, and you don't mind getting up early, then you might just enjoy this Mens Prayer Breakfast and Bible Study.
